Born in Argentina, Patricia Rotondaro completed her training at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (DE) and graduated in dance and choreography at the SNDO in Amsterdam (NL). She has worked with companies such as Meekers, Luzerner Theater, Bühnen Bern and Theater St. Gallen. As an independent dancer, she has worked with Linda Magnifico, Teresa Rotemberg/Compañía Mafalda, Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble, Jochen Heckman and the Anton Lachky Dance Company. She was the female lead in the dance film Das Blumenzimmer by director Sarah Derendinger. The film was shown on Swiss television and at international dance film festivals in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Italy and Switzerland. Patricia is one of the four contemporary dance professors of the Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Dance at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Since 2023 she has been a guest professor of contemporary dance at the taZ. She is also founder and organiser of the dance platform Dare&Share! in Basel. As a choreographer, she has created "When space creates the story", "Green" and "Un diálogo con las sombras", which was selected for the 16th Venice International Art Fair 2022 and was performed in the season 2024/2025 at the Kurtheater Baden. Her research "haVITAt" was financially supported by Basel Land. From August 2025, Patricia will take up her new position at the ZHdK as artistic coordinator of the Bachelor in Contemporary Dance.
