Angela Stöcklin (*1963) grew up in Iran and Nepal. She came to dance via music and the visual arts. In addition to numerous engagements as a dancer in Switzerland, Germany and Belgium, she creates her own choreographies, performative and installative works, short pieces and full-length productions, solo and interdisciplinary projects. She has also been active in artistic research in the fields of dance/music, movement/sound for many years. Angela explores multiple facets of communication, interaction and perception, and process-orientated approaches. Her interests and way of working include fixed composition, which reveals a specific form as the necessity of a development process, as well as instant composition, which reacts/acts in the moment as direct play and absolute presence in the now. With her background in various artistic disciplines, she began to ask questions about their interaction at eye level and founded the fusion projects in 2008. Angela's intercultural projects also fall into this context. She founded the Instant Composition festival in 2019 and has been a member of the x-group (Instant Composition research as performance form) since 2003. In addition to teaching movement in various contexts, Angela practices and teaches acupressure therapy.
