Basia Wehinger, born in Poland, studied contemporary dance, theatre and acting. She danced at the Tanzstudio alter, Dance Theatre in Gdansk, and worked with Stajnia Pegaza, Nei Dance Theatre. She was artistic coordinator, assistant director and choreographer in the Dramatic Theatre in Kalisz. She learned many dance techniques, singing, art history and medicine from international teachers in Poland, Switzerland and England. She taught dance and theatre in many workshops. She has lived in Basel for 26 years and runs her own institution Alte Rumfabrik. She works for Gare des Enfants contemporary music and creates her own projects, performances in theatre, dance and film. Currently in collaboration with play for rights : arts engagement in peacebuilding and human rights education. She is a mother of two children.
