Dominique Cardito is a dancer, choreographer, dance teacher and dance facilitator. She received her training at the renowned Rotterdam Dance Academy in Holland. This was followed by various engagements as a dancer with Krisztina de Châtel, Piet Rogie and de Meekers, among others. She has lived in Basel since 2006 and has since worked with numerous Swiss choreographers and ensembles, including Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble, Da Motus! öff öff aerial dance, Oliver Daehler, Felix Duméril, Kiriakos Hadjiioannou, Catherine Habasque and Kollektiv F. In recent years she has become increasingly involved in dance education projects, including for the Migros Kulturprozent dance festival Steps, the dance-moves-kids program of the Tanzbüro Basel and her own association Nanu Productions. Dominique has been the president of Tanzbüro Basel since 2008 and organizes its professional training. She currently also works as a choreographic assistant, rehearsal leader and mediator for the Basel choreographer Tabea Martin. Dominique has also worked for many years in project organization, personnel support and PR/media for various Swiss dance ensembles and is a trustee of the Swiss Foundation for the Retraining of Performing Artists (SSUDK). She also works as a dance teacher and yoga instructor in Basel. Dominique has two daughters.
