Ivan Wolfe (*1955) grew up in the USA and various European countries. After studying psychology at the University of New Hampshire in the USA, he trained as a dancer in ballet, modern dance and jazz dance in Boston and New York. This was followed by further training and consolidation in Contact Improvisation, Instant Composition, Authentic Movement and training in the Feldenkrais Method. In New York, he danced with the companies of Danny Buraszeski, Joyce Tristler, Elisa Monte, David Parsons and in Zurich with Cie DRIFT. Between 2005 and 2022 he was a member of the improvisation group x-group. He has been teaching Movement Research, a self-developed movement research for dancers, for 30 years, including at the Höhere Fachschule für Zeitgenössischen & Urbanen Bühnentanz in Zurich from 2013 to 2023.
