Kendra Walsh (USA) trained in ballet and contemporary dance at North Carolina School of the Arts and the School of American Ballet in New York. She first danced with the Miami Ballet and then worked with Pina Bausch dancer Yolanda Meier in Basel (and later in Zürich) in 1986. They performed in Theater Basel amongst other venues and toured internationally. Kendra danced with YNO in Zürich and Dance Brigade in San Francisco. In the 1990’s she danced with the Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble in Basel where she worked with choreographers such as Nils Christe, Nicolo Fonte and Richard Wherlock. She chreographed pieces for this group which were performed internationally. In 2002 she created the solo Paradise which she performed in Basel, Zürich and Lausanne. She followed this with the duo Spuren. Since then she has worked with choreographers based in Basel and in Zürich, with musicians in various constellations and she creates site specific performances. In January 2025 she performed in the premiere performances of Sol Bilbao Lucuiex’s production ever.body in Basel. She teaches ballet and contemporary dance in Basel and has worked at the Bern Academy of the Arts.
